Beef
Chow Mein
1 lb. lean hamburger or chicken
3 cups of water
1 onion (sliced)
2 celery stalks (sliced
horizontaly)
1 can bean sprouts drained &
rinsed
2 beef cubes
1 pkg. brown gravy mix
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tsp. gravy master
1 pkg. gravy mix from chow mein
Brown hamburger drain fat from
pan. In a saucepan bring to boil 3
cups of water & add hamburger &
beef cubes.
When the water comes to a boil,
bring it to a simmer. Make the
gravies according to the pkgs. add
the soy sauce, gravy master &gravy
from chow mein after you have
mixed it according to the pkg.
When the gravy begins to thicken,
add the onion, celery,& bean
sprouts. Simmer for about 5
minutes, then serve. You can also
have this over rice to instead of
noodles.
By adding the
veggies
last, it makes them
crunchy
& not
soggy.If
you want, you can add them from
the beginning ,it's all up to you.
This is the way I make it & it
comes out very tasty.
Sometimes I buy
Sirloin Steak
& slice it thin & I use that
instead of hamburger.
