Salmon Chowder

3 slices of salt pork
1 onion diced
6 potatoes--small, sliced
1 large can of pink salmon
1 and 1/2 qts. of milk
1 tsp. of salt
1/4 tsp. of pepper

Cut salt pork in strips and fry until crisp
Remove pork and fry diced onions until light brown
Add sliced potatoes, 1 pt. of water and seasonings
Cook until potatoes are soft
Add milk, flaked salmon and juice from the can
Serve the fried pork with the chowder ( optional)
Serves 6
