Tomato Asparagus Salad


1-cup of tomato sauce
1-cup of hot water
1-bay leaf
1/2-tsp. of salt
1/2-onion, sliced
1-clove ( not garlic a regular clove )
2-tbsp. gelatine
1 and 1/2 cups of asparagus tips cut into half inch pieces.

First simmer together for 15 minutes the tomato sauce, water, bay leaf, salt, onion, and the clove. Soak gelatine in 1/4 cup cold water. Add softened gelatine to hot tomato mixture. Stir until gelatine is dissolved, then strain. Set aside to cool and thicken. When about the consistency of cream add asparagus tips cut in half inch pieces. Turn into individual molds and chill until firm. Unmold on lettuce leaves and garnish with asparagus tips and mayonnaise.
